UV-C LED Water Treatment
World’s largest supplier of UV-C LED Disinfection Systems
At AquiSense, we are passionate about developing solutions that solve real-world problems in water, air, and surface UV-C LED disinfection applications.
Our UV water filter systems can be used in a caravan, house, whole building, and even the town water supply. Eventually, our products will provide reliable, lower-cost drinking water to millions in remote communities.
UV-C LED light sterilisation water filters are a revolutionary way to treat your drinking water without contaminating it without using mercury, chlorine or other toxins.
If you are living off-grid or in a remote area, ultraviolet LEDs can be used to deactivate unwanted pathogens (including; viruses, bacteria and parasites) in your water, so they can’t reproduce or grow. Pathogens in untreated water can cause illness or, in extreme cases, death.
AquiSense have a range of UV-C LED water treatment products, ranging from point-of-consumption products (under your sink) to municipal and industrial potable water systems.

UV-C LED Technology
Advanced UV-C LED disinfection is a new technology that uses light to damage the DNA of pathogens. This technology offers a variety of new benefits when compared to conventional UV purification. Ultraviolet LEDs present an innovative solution for providing clean and effective water purification.
UV (ultraviolet) light is a type of radiation that can be found in the electromagnetic spectrum and is measured in Nanometers (nm). Invisible to the human eye, UV is an effective disinfectant due to the density of its wavelength.
UV-C, the radiation used in AquiSense systems, is germicidal, meaning it can be used effectively as a disinfectant to kill microorganisms, such as bacteria and viruses.
When the DNA of microorganisms absorbs UV light, it stops them from being able to reproduce and duplicate, thereby preventing their growth in water.
Water Filter Systems
UV-C LED systems are most effective when used in conjunction with traditional water filtration, such as reverse osmosis. UV-C LED uses light to deactivate pathogens but does not remove sediment or chemicals from the water.

UV Water Filter
While the term “water filter” is commonly used to describe various water treatment methods, it may not be quite the right word to encapsulate the concept of UV disinfection. Unlike traditional water filters that physically remove impurities or contaminants from water through processes like absorption or filtration, UV disinfection utilises ultraviolet light to neutralise harmful microorganisms. Rather than filtering out particles, UV disinfection targets the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens, rendering them unable to reproduce and eliminating the risk of 99.9% of waterborne illnesses. Therefore, while a UV disinfection system may complement or be integrated with a water filtration system, it goes beyond the traditional notion of a water filter.
Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of drinking water is of paramount importance. With increasing concerns about waterborne diseases and contaminants, exploring effective water treatment solutions becomes crucial. UV water disinfection utilises ultraviolet light to eradicate harmful microorganisms.
UV water disinfection is a powerful method of purifying water using ultraviolet light to destroy bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens in the water. UV light has the ability to penetrate the cell walls of microorganisms, damaging their DNA and preventing them from reproducing. This process effectively neutralises these harmful agents, rendering the water safe for consumption.
Unlike traditional water treatment methods, which often involve the use of chlorine or other disinfectants, UV water filters offer a chemical-free alternative. This means no unpleasant tastes or odours are added to the water, making it ideal for those who prefer a more natural and clean-tasting water supply.
Furthermore, LED UV water disinfection systems contribute to environmental sustainability. Since they do not require the use of mercury which can leach into the soil and water, impacting entire ecosystems, including having devastating effects on humans. Additionally, UV LED water filters have lower energy consumption compared to other water treatment methods, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and conserving energy resources.
Once installed, UV water disinfection systems provide continuous disinfection without the need for constant monitoring or maintenance. The system operates automatically, ensuring that water passing through it is consistently disinfected.
While UV water disinfection systems do require an initial investment, they offer long-term cost savings. With no ongoing chemical costs and minimal maintenance requirements, UV water filters prove to be a cost-effective solution for households, commercial buildings, and municipal water treatment plants.
Investing in a quality UV water filter system ensures the safety and cleanliness of your water supply, promoting the health and well-being of your household or community. With its chemical-free disinfection, efficient removal of bacteria and viruses, environmental friendliness, continuous disinfection, absence of residual byproducts, and long-term cost savings, UV water disinfection provides a reliable and effective solution for disinfecting water.
